Home, sweet home.

We've been in Alice for three weeks and are settling in. I'm so enjoying a slower pace of life. The standard response to anything is 'no worries.' It's very casual here, which suits me well. People are super outdoorsy. Lots of hiking, camping, off-roading, extreme sports. Yeah. Not really me. Or maybe it is!  I shall be a good sport and try new things. Maybe I'll get my own swag! The seasons here are reversed from the states, so we are at the beginning of spring. The weather is fantastic right now - warm, sunny days and cool, crisp nights. The community here is very tight and very social. We've been to more cookouts in the last three weeks than we go to in six months back home! I love it. And nothing takes more than 10 or 15 minutes to get to. There is NO TRAFFIC!

Here are some pictures of our home. It's a ranch style house with everything on one floor - I like that. We back right onto the golf course - I think it's the 7th hole. We don't have any of our stuff yet, so I'll post pics of the inside of the house after our shipment comes and we can make it somewhat homey. We are living a very simple life right now. Kinda nice.
View of the golf course and the Caterpillar Ridge from our backyard.

View from our driveway looking onto the MacDonnell Range.

This is our house! We've got palm trees!

This is the street that we live on. Very peaceful and quiet.

Another view from the front of our house.

  1. Fabulous! Looks like a perfect place for a hammock to stargaze at nights and enjoy the view by day!

  3. Very nice! Glad to read that you are settling in. Keep the posts coming. It certainly is different than northern VA, that's for sure.
