weather. If you see a snake on your property,
please contact the Snake Man at 0407 983 276. The
Reptile Centre is also a helpful resource to learn
about the precautions to take when encountering
snakes out bush.
This was published in our weekly newsletter that I received today. Yes, we have a "Snake Man." And we have his number posted front and center by our phone. I hope I never have a need to call him. Unfortunately, there is no "Spider Man." (har har). Seriously though, there are a number of scary spiders here too. More on those later.
The snakes we need to look out for are:
1. Pseudonaja is a genus of venomous elapid snakes native to Australia. Members are known commonly as brown snakes and are considered to be one of the most dangerous snakes in the country; even young snakes are capable of delivering a fatal envenomation to a human.

2. The Inland Taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus), also known as the Small Scaled Snake and Fierce Snake, is native to Australia and is regarded as the most venomous land snake in the world based on LD50 values in mice.[1] It is a species of taipan belonging to the Elapidae family. Although highly venomous, it is very shy and reclusive, and always prefers to escape from trouble (the word "fierce" from its alternate name describes its venom, not its temperament).[2]

There is another guy here who goes by "Reptile Rex." I will have the pleasure of meeting him this weekend. I'll be sure to get pictures of his friends.
This is in our laundry room behind the dryer. I don't even want to know ...
