Budapest was fun

We decided to head east leaving the states to move to Alice Springs, Australia. Most people go west, from what I understand. Well, we went east and stopped in Budapest for a five day visit before continuing on to Alice. Budapest is a beautiful city -- very walkable, with lots of outdoor cafes. We stayed on the quieter Pest side at the venerable Gellert Hotel. We imagine at one time (more than 100 years ago), the hotel was elegant and grand. It does not appear to have been updated since before 1912 or so. It is still pretty cool -- especially the baths, which still look like this. The weather was great while we were there and we really, really enjoyed it.

Then we embarked on a 33+hour odyssey to get to our new home in Alice Springs, Australia.

    1. I will, Bill. Need to do that while it's still somewhat fresh. Thanks for reading!
